Taylorville UMC is a faithful United Methodist community that's built around the life-changing power of Jesus Christ and the hope that's found in Him. We believe in growing together, in supporting each other through prayer, and in showing and telling people about God's love for them.

The current incarnation of Taylorville UMC began in 1905 when a few families and a traveling pastor -- called a circuit rider -- decided that the area needed a church to proclaim the Good News of God's grace to the people. It's grown over the years, but the mission remains the same: to help people grow in faith and faithfulness with one another.

Why do we exist? Simply, to create and equip disciples of Jesus Christ. We want people to do more than hear that God loves them -- we want them to experience the transformation that comes through a life of faith.

What does this mean for you? It means you aren't just invited -- you're wanted! We're saving a seat for you. Whether you grew up in church or this is your first time, regardless of what you've been through or done, we want to celebrate the love of Christ together with you.
