Fellowship and Prayer Shawls

If you’ve looked around our church, you may have noticed the afghans and shawls that are tucked away in various places. There are a few in the sanctuary, some in the atrium by the gym, and even one hanging on the wall in the hallway. What you may not have known, however, is that countless more have been sent out to nursing homes and hospital rooms over the years — they are our prayer shawls, and are just one of the wonderful things our United Methodist Women do together.

On October 22, the UMW prayed over twelve more of their handmade shawls with the hope that their softness and warmth might be a blessing to someone who needs it. This is a way that our church can share the love of Christ with those around us, and we pray that through them, their recipients will know the loving embrace of our Lord.

The United Methodist Women meet on the fourth Monday of every month at 10am.
