“Come into His presence with singing!” Psalms 100
The Sanctuary Choir at Taylorville United Methodist ministers every Sunday at the 11:00 A.M. worship service. Yes, ministers is the right word, since this is the ministry of music. The group is comprised of a group of singers who are committed to bringing wonderful, worshipful choral music, hymns, and praise choruses to services. They are mindful of the important role music plays in preparing the hearts of the congregation for worship, and supporting the pastor’s message. The choir, under the direction of Regina Noland, and accompanied by Angie Chen, also prepares music for special times in the church calendar including Christmas and Easter with cantatas and musical dramas. Several times throughout the year, a service (often a 5th Sunday) is focused on singing hymns and songs with the opportunity for the congregation to request favorites. The September 2018 5th Sunday was an exciting All Church service in the gym, featuring the Sanctuary Choir, Grove Band, Young Musicians, a string band (including pastor on banjo!), and our amazing pianist Angie Chen.
Vocal and instrumental solos are scheduled for services as the offertory music. Many of the choir selections offer opportunities for solo work with the choir. Contact Regina if you would like to participate.
Rehearsal time for the Sanctuary Choir is Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:00 P.M. During rehearsals we work hard on our music, fellowship, and pray! We close rehearsals with a special time of prayer which makes the choir a vital prayer group within the church.
If you are interested in becoming a part of this vital group contact Regina Noland by phone, text, or email at 205-242-7485 or email@example.com.
